It's not a good sign when 3 of the first nine-picks are Cleveland Prospects. Couldn't they have gotten an injury exception with all the injured players they have?
Wickman can't even play next year, possibly Gutierrez, even Lawton, why couldn't they have been exempted so that we could have kept a couple of more players...?
If a player shuts it down DURING the playing season due to injury, that team should be allowed an injury exemption, especially if the player is not healed at the time of the Rule Five Draft.

I forgot something. If he ballplayers selected by other teams don't make the major league team by a certain date, we get the players back, plus $50,000! (or is it $25,000?)

I believe the way it works is if the player is not on the 25 man roster for the entire season that player can be reclaimed by their original team for half the price of what was paid when drafted. So if McDougal isn't on the Rangers 25 man roster all season the Indians can get him back for $25,000. It's hard to say how many if any of the 5 drafted from the Indians farm system will stay on for an entire season but my guess is not many, so chances are that McDougal may be coming back. I guess if the Tribe doesn't want to tally up the 25k than they didn't have a place in the system anyway.
